5 international drug trading gang members arrested
DHAKA, Jan 29, 2018 (BSS) – Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Monday night
arrested five operatives of an international gang of illegal drug trading
from the capital’s Bimanbandar Thana area.
The arrestees, Fatema Imam Tania, 26, Afsana Mimi, 26, Salma Sultana,
Sheikh Mohammad Badhan alias Parvez, 28, Ruhul Amin alias Saimon, 29,
confessed their link to drug trading during preliminary interrogation.
RAB personnel also seized 1970 pieces of contraband yaba tablets, foreign
currency and passports from their possessions.
One Md Arif Uddin, proprietor of Al Amin Fashion Buying House is their
Bangladeshi supervisor of the drug trading, a RAB official said quoting the
arrestees.
As many as 15 to 20 people have been conducting drug peddling in Bangladesh
under direct supervision of Arif, he said, adding that they are now on hot
pursuit to capture them.
