DMP chief for sustainable security thru digital technology

DHAKA, Jan 29, 2019 (BSS) – Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Md Asaduzzaman Mia today stressed the need for bringing the capital under digital security system to make the city free from crimes in a sustainable way.

“Nowadays, it is very much possible to identify criminals at the quickest possible time by using digital technology. We are preparing database of the city dwellers like the developed countries so that none can evade punishment after committing crimes. Eighty lakh city dwellers have been brought under the database,” he said.

After inaugurating a control room for monitoring closed circuit camera televisions (CCTVs) at Badda police camp this morning, the DMP chief also said, “As much as 100 CC cameras have already been installed at Aftabnagar area which will help us to make the locality crime-free like Gulshan and Banani.”

Seeking assistance from all stakeholders including media, he said, “Collective efforts of the countrymen are necessary to build a developed and prosperous country. It will be impossible for police alone to fight drugs, terrorism, and militancy.”

The DMP commissioner asked his fellow colleagues to win confidence of the people with good behavior and give the best possible services, saying, “In case of any exception, we will take tougher actions.”

He requested the city dwellers to inform the higher authorities if they do not get the desired services and good behavior from the police personnel.
