AL mayoral candidate Atiqul collects nomination paper for DNCC
DHAKA, Jan 27, 2019 (BSS) – Atiqul Islam today collected nomination form for mayoral post to contest the upcoming Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) by-polls on Awami League (AL) ticket.
Mizanur Rahman, coordinator of election steering committee for Atiqul, collected the nomination papers from Election Commission (EC) Secretariat’s Joint Secretary Abul Kashem, the returning officer for Dhaka north city polls, at the Electoral Training Institute (ETI) in the city’s Agargaon area this afternoon.
Later, Mizanur Rahman told journalists that the nomination form will be submitted at 3 pm on January 29 in the presence of Atiqul Islam.
On January 22, the EC announced the schedule for holding by-poll to DNCC mayoral post and elections to the councilor and reserved councilor posts in the newly extended 36 wards of the DNCC and Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) on February 28.
As per the election schedule, the last date of submission of nomination papers is January 30.
