Djokovic takes first set against Nadal in Open final
MELBOURNE, Jan 27, 2019 (BSS/AFP) – World number one Novak Djokovic won the first set of the Australian Open men’s final 6-3 against Spanish second seed Rafael Nadal Sunday as the Serb targets a 15th Grand Slam title.
The top seed was in ruthless touch during the 36 minute set, with a rattled Nadal having no answers to his booming groundstrokes and fierce serve.
The Nadal serve had not been broken since round one, but Djokovic did so at the first attempt.
