Classroom education must be ensured: ACC chairman

DHAKA, Jan 27, 2019 (BSS) – Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Chairman Iqbal Mahmood today vowed to ensure education at classes at any cost with stopping any attempt to jeopardy future of the young generation.

He has sounded the note of warning after paying sudden visit to some schools in Chattagram Metropolitan areas with finding some irregularities in the institutions such as absence of teachers in the classes.

The sudden visit of the ACC chairman has planned after receiving of allegations that teachers in most of the educational institutions at Chattagram do not go their job places regularly, said an official release.

After expressing grave concern over finding irregularities in the educational institutions, he also said, “The commission is set to go tough in ensuring classroom education if necessary the commission will not hesitate to use section 166 of the Penal code in doing so.”

During his visit to Kattoli Nurul Haque Chowdhury Primary School at 9.15am today, the ACC chief found only one teacher out of eight in the school and students are passing their time by gossiping while two teachers were absent out of 11 at Bhataria Government Primary School.

He later visited to Sheetalpur High School where he found none of the students failed in SSC test examination are allowed to take part in the upcoming SSC examination going to be held from February 2.

The ACC Chairman, however, expressed satisfaction at the 100 per cent presence of the teachers at 132 No Khajuria Govt Primary School & Kalomdoho Govt Primary School.
