Towfiq-e-Elahi Chaudhury’s elder sister Fatema Mobin passes away
DHAKA, Jan 27, 2019 (BSS) – Fatema Mobin Chaudhury, the elder sister of
Prime Minister’s Energy Advisor Towfiq-E- Elahi Chaudhury, died of cancer at
her Banani residence here in the early hours of today.
She was 76.
“Fatema, wife of Engineer Mobin Chaudhury who was a former member of
Bangladesh Water Development Board and a research fellow of Harvard
University, breathed her last at 1 am today at her Banani residence,”
official sources said.
She left behind her husband and two sons – one is an engineer working in
the USA and another son is a business consultant residing in Canada — as
well as a host relatives and admirers to mourn her death.
Fatema Mobin Chaudhury, a graduate of Rajshahi University, will be buried
at the Banani Graveyard in the capital following a namaz-e-janaza at the
mosque adjacent to Banani Bazar after Asr prayers today.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of
Fatema.
In a condolence message, the prime minister prayed for eternal peace of the
departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.
