2 youths held for fraudulence using FB
DHAKA, Jan 26, 2019 (BSS)- Police arrested two youths on charges of
demanding money from the people after threatening them to make viral their
fake nude pictures and videos on social networking sites.
The youths, Md Sajidur Rahman, 19, and Md Nahidul Islam, 19, were arrested
from Kazipara area of Mirpur around 7.40 pm on January 23.
Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit personnel of the
police arrested the duo following a case filed under Digital Security Act
with Hatirjhil Police Station on January 22.
The complainant alleged that the arrestees have opened two fake facebook
IDs after his name and later sent his fake nude pictures and videos to his
messenger thorough his facebook ID and demanded Taka 12,000 for not uploading
those to internet.
He (complainant) later gave the arrestees some money through bKash account
and sought time give the rest of money.
The arrestees were sent to a Dhaka court demanding 10 days remand. But the
court gave two days remand each for interrogating them.
