Tajul for ending mismanagement to ensure civic amenities for all

DHAKA, Jan 24, 2019 (BSS) – Local Government Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Md Tajul Islam today stressed on removing all kinds of mismanagement across the country for ensuring civic amenities for all.

“We have returned to power with the commitment of ensuring civic amenities not only in the cities, but also in all villages. All sorts of negligence and mismanagement have to be removed to restore the livable environment, reducing all kinds of public sufferings,” he said.

The minister came up with the statements at a view exchange meeting with the senior officials of Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (DWASA) at the DWASA office in the city’s Kawran Bazar area, said an official release.

Local Government Division Secretary SM Ghulam Farooque, DWASA Chairman Professor Dr Md Habibur Rahman and Managing Director Engineer Taksin A Khan and senior officials of DWASA were present in the meeting.

Urging the officials to deliver services to the citizens with new enthusiasm and proper management staying away from corruption, Tajul said, “None will be speared, if any exception takes place in this regard”.

Speaking about removing water logging in the city, the minister said, “We will sit with the agencies concerned soon for taking necessary initiatives to end water logging in the capital city”.

Earlier, he visited the DWASA office and reviewed its activities. In the meeting, the minister was informed about different ongoing activities of the DWASA.
