DHAKA, Jan 21, 2019 (BSS) – The government will sing an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract with China-based Dongsang Electric International Corporation plant at Bidyut Bhaban in the capital tomorrow for hastening the installation of one 150 MW power plant.
“The proposed power plant would be set up at Saidpur in Dinajpur district and it would start supplying electricity within 18 months,” Director of Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) Saiful Hasan Chowdhury old BSS here today.
He said Prime Minister’s Energy Affairs Advisor Dr Towfiq-E-Elahi Chowdhury, Bir Bikram would witness the contract signing ceremony as the chief guest while State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid would be present as the special guest.
BPDB chairman Engineer Khaled Mahmood would also witness the signing ceremony.
Chowdhury said the government has taken this initiative to increase power generation in the country as per its target to generate 24,000 MW electricity by 2021.
