Road accident kills four in Noakhali
NOAKHALI, Jan 21, 2019 (BSS) – Four people were killed and two others
injured when a bus collided head-on with an auto-rickshaw on Sonaimuri-
Coumuhoni road in Mirwarispur area under Begumganj upazila of the district on
Monday.
One of the deceased was identified as Nur Nahar Akter Lovely, 28, hailed
from Lalpur village but the identities of the other deceased could not be
known immediately.
Firoz Hossain Molla, officer-in-charge (OC) of Begumganj Model thana, said
the accident occurred when a Noakhali-bound bus from Dhaka hit a CNG-run
auto-rickshaw in the area around 2.30pm, leaving a passenger of the auto-
rickshaw dead on the spot and injuring others.
Three critically injured were succumbed to their injuries on way to the
Noakhali General Hospital, he said.
Another critically wounded Jamal Hossain was shifted to Dhaka Medical
College Hospital when his condition deteriorated, the OC added.
A case was filed in this connection.
