BIDA chief for environment friendly investment to sustain growth

DHAKA, Jan 20, 2019 (BSS) – Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Executive Chairman Kazi M Aminul Islam today said environment friendly investment is essential to ensure sustainable economic growth in the country.

“Bangladesh has registered a steady growth in the last few years. Bangladesh will be a developed country by 2041. We need billion dollars investment in infrastructure to develop the country,” he said while speaking as the chief guest at a seminar on “Environment Friendly and Cost Effective Technology in Lubricants and Power Sector of Bangladesh” at Sonargaon Hotel in the city.

Lub-rref (Bangladesh) Limited organized the seminar marking the introduction of two new technologies — Nynas technology in transformer oil and Nano technology in lubricant considering environmental issue and longevity of engine.

Nano technology in lubricant is aimed at attaining fuel efficiency, more power, enhance life time and reduce emission in the lubrication system and improve engine performance.

While, the Nynas technology based transformer oil is basically wax-free and has a good flowing feature under low temperature and good heat distribution oil. It is well known for its environment friendly feature.

Swedish Ambassador in Dhaka Charlotta Schlyter and Professor of Chemical Engineering Department of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) Dr Ijaz Hossain, among others, were present at the seminar.

Mohammed Yousuf Managing Director of Lub-rref (Bangladesh) Limited presided over the seminar.

Aminul Islam said electricity generation of the country has reached 20,000 megawatts and demands and use of electricity has gone up. As a result, there is huge demands of energy related oils and products, he added.

Mohammad Yousuf said considering the users benefits, they have introduced the Nano technology as it is more efficient, improves engine performance, and reduces fuel consumption up to 5 percent.
