Youths must know actual history of Liberation War: Gazi
DHAKA, Jan 20, 2019 (BSS) – Textiles and Jute Minister Golam Dastagir Gazi
today said the new generation should know the actual history of Liberation
War to take the country towards prosperity and development.
“The nation should uplift the country’s development with the spirit of
independence… The new generation must learn the true history of the
Liberation War in 1971 as it did not come in one day,” he said.
He was addressing the annual sports and awards distribution programme as
the chief guest on Siddeshwari High Girls’ School premises in the capital
today.
Mentioning that the Liberation War is the result of many sacrifices and
struggles of the Bengalee nation, he said patriotism is needed for the people
of the country, adding, “In absence of that, terrorism will ruin the
development process of the country.”
Terming Bangladesh as self-sufficient country on food, he said, “We are now
exporting food abroad after keeping stock of foods in the country.”
“We will present Bangladesh in a new way in the world map before 2041. Then
the world will follow us,” he added.
With the President of the School Board of Directors freedom fighter Sheikh
Raisul Alam Moyna in the chair, the function was addressed, among others, by
School Management Committee member Dilara Alam, Principal Prof Mohammad
Shahab Uddin Mollah and Assistant Principal Mohammad Delwar Hossain.
