Land Ministry to launch hotline to receive complaints: Saifuzzaman

SAVAR, Jan 20, 2019 (BSS) – Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury today said his ministry will launch a hotline to receive all kinds of complaints directly regarding the irregularities in land offices across the country.

“Bribery, corruption and terrorism in land management will be stopped. We have taken the control of land offices. A hotline will be opened in the ministry to receive all sorts of complaints directly,” he said, addressing the inaugural function of the 116th Survey and Settlement Training Course at Fisheries and Livestock Training Center ground here.

Land Record and Survey Department Director General Md Taslimul Islam presided over the function addressed by, among others, Land Secretary Maksudur Rahman and Land Record and Survey Department Director Fazlur Rahman, said an official release.

Referring to the government’s zero tolerance policy on corruption, the land minister said, “Actually, we do not want any complaint regarding the land”.

Sheikh Hasina has become the Prime Minister of the country for the third consecutive term with the people’s confidence and mandate, Saifuzzaman said, adding that she returned to power to remove the people’s sufferings.

Mentioning that about 70 to 80 per cent cases are lodged over land, the minister said, “We have already taken a pilot project for the automation of the land management system”. A total of 58 officers of BCS cadres, including admin, police, forest and railways, are taking part in the 45-day training.
