Ferry service resumes on Shimulia-Kathalbari route
MUNSHIGANJ, Jan 15, 2018 (BSS) – The ferry service on Shimulia-Kathalbari
route resumed this morning after 8 hours suspension due to thick fog on the
route.
Assistant General Manager (AGM) of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport
Corporation (BIWTC) of Shimulia, Khandakar Shah Khaled Neaz said the ferry
movement was suspended from 2am due to poor visibility.
About 300 vehicles, including buses, trucks and cars, remained stranded at
both ends of the important route, he added.
However, the ferry service resumed around 10am as fog started disappearing
with the sunrise.
