Tokyo stocks close higher, SoftBank jumps on listing hopes
TOKYO, Jan 15, 2018 (BSS/AFP) – Tokyo stocks closed higher on Monday,
supported by record closes on Wall Street, while SoftBank jumped more than
three percent after it said it was considering listing its mobile unit.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index gained 0.26 percent, or 61.06 points, to
23,714.88 while the broader Topix index ended up 0.41 percent, or 7.66
points, at 1,883.90.
