Govt committed to prevent corruption: Shahab Uddin
DHAKA, Jan 16, 2019 (BSS) – Environment, Forest and Climate Change
Minister Md Shahab Uddin today said the government is committed to prevent
corruption.
“The government is committed to prevent corruption. At first, I will make
my ministry corruption-free. I will take all kind of measurers to make the
ministry corruption-free,” he said while talking to journalists after
offering ziarat at Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) mazar in Sylhet.
Earlier, on his arrival in Sylhet Osmani International Airport, former
Sylhet City Corporation mayor Badar Uddin Ahmad Kamran, former Member of
Parliament Shafiqur Rahman Chowdhury, Awami League (AL) Organizing Secretary
Advocate Md Misbah Uddin Siraj and other local AL leaders welcomed the
minister with bouquet, said a press release here.
Later, Shahab Uddin exchanged greetings with party leaders and sought
cooperation from all in performing his duties as a minister.
The minister will distribute blankets, provided by Prime Minister Sheikh
Hasina, among cold-stricken people at 11 am at Barlekha upazila in
Moulvibazar district tomorrow.
He will also join another blankets distribution programme at 10 am at Juri
upazila in Moulvibazar district and a view exchange meeting with the
officials of the upazila and upazila parishad at 11 am on Friday.
