Govt takes 100-day scheme to develop healthcare facilities

DHAKA, Jan 16, 2019 (BSS) – The Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid
Maleque today said the ministry has taken a 100-day scheme to develop health
management system and conduct an anti-corruption campaign in the sector
across the country.

“We have taken a plan to improve the health management system in the
country through strict monitoring and continuing the anti corruption campaign
everywhere,” he said.

He said this while briefing journalists at the ministry conference room at
Secretariat here.

He said the ministry will set up monitoring cells in the ministry,
Directorate General of Health Services and at the divisional levels to
implement the scheme.

Zahid said the monitoring cells would conduct regular visits to hospitals
across the country to oversee whether cleanliness as well as proper
healthcare services are being provided at hospitals and institutes.

The ministry today also launched complaint corner for the people who face
problems while receiving healthcare.

The corner will also provide different suggestions to people regarding
healthcare facilities being provided at the respective hospitals.

The minister said from now on there would be no purchase of any equipment
without prior approval from the ministry.

As per the election manifesto the government would provide free healthcare
services to people aged below one year and above 65 years, he said, adding
the process of providing free health services will start soon.

State Minister for Health M Murad Hasan, Secretary (Health Education and
Family Welfare Division) GM Saleh Uddin, Director General of Directorate
General of Health Services (DGHS) Prof Dr Abul Kalam Azad, among others, were
present.
