DHAKA, Jan 15, 2018 (BSS) – Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu yesterday said there is no ambiguity in the constitution with the election-time government, saying that the polls-time government, the Election Commission and their jurisdiction all are crystal clear.

“There is no crisis regarding political, constitutional or election in the country. There is no constitutional legal step to squeeze democracy. But militancy and terrorism want to raise their head with the patronization of BNP-Jamaat, which are out to deny the responsibility of fire terrorism” he said this while exchanging views with reporters at his Bangladesh Secretariat Office here.

This view exchange meeting was arranged in response to the reaction of the BNP after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s address to the nation on January 12.

“The country is a witness to the arrest of the BNP leaders and workers who were involved in the 93-day fire terrorism. In connivance with militants and terrorists, the BNP is engaged in foiling the trial of war crimes, August 21 grenade attack and other major killings and it’s a threat to the democratic politics,” he said.

To face the threat, he said, a national consensus is needed.

Inu said that Khaleda Zia or BNP didn’t give any new constitutional proposal about election in the last nine years. “The BNP’s proposal about the election is in fact an ill strategy to delay time,” he said.

The information minister said wearing mask of election, democracy, dialogue and supportive government, the BNP is weaving a net of conspiracy to foil the polls. “But the peace-loving people and the government must resist their plot,” he asserted.
