Six matches of National Women’s Handball decided in opener
DHAKA, Jan 15, 2019 (BSS)- Six matches of the EXIM Bank 29th National
Women’s Handball competition were decided on the opening day (Tuesday) at
Shaheed M Mansur Ali Handball Stadium in the city.
On the first day of the competition, Dhaka district Sports Association
(DSA) beat Bandarban DSA by 18-7 goals after leading the first half by 7-4
goals, Dinajpur DSA defeated Feni DSA 13-3 goals after dominating the first
half by 6-2 goals, Bangladesh Police Handball Club outclassed Gopalganj DSA
by 24-4 goals after leading the first half by 16-1 goals, Jamalpur DSA
overpowered Faridpur DSA by 33-5 goals after dominating the first half by 18-
1 goals, Bandarban DSA beat Narail DSA by 21-4 goals after leading the first
half by 7-4 goals and Noagaon DSA outplayed Feni DSA by 28-4 goals after
dominating the first half by 15-1 goals.
Sponsored by EXIM Bank, a total of 14 district and services teams are
taking part in the meet.
The participating teams are Feni, Jamalpur, Noagaon, Narail, Panchagarh,
Gopalganj, Faridpur, Dinajpur, Chuadanga, Kushtia DSAs and Bangladesh Ansar,
Bangladesh Police and Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation.Bangladesh Handball
Federation organised the meet.
Meanwhile, State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russel is
expected to present as the chief guest in the competition on Wednesday.
