Construction of CETP at Savar to be completed soon: Humayun
DHAKA, Jan 15, 2019 (BSS) – Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun today said the construction works of the Central Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP) at Savar Tannery Industrial City will be completed soon.
“The construction works of CEPT is going to be completed. The CEPT is working well to purify chemical waste,” he said while exchanging views with a delegation of the Bangladesh Tanners Association (BTA) at the Industries Ministry in the city, said a press release.
Humayun said Bangladesh will have to attract the foreign consumers by maintaining the international standards of the leather products.
The minister informed that the government is also establishing two industrial cities in Chattogram and Rajshahi for rapid development of the leather industry in the country.
Secretary in-charge of the Industries Ministry M Abdul Halim was present at the meeting, among others.
