Youth held for torching police vehicle in city
DHAKA, Jan 10, 2019 (BSS) – Police on Wednesday night arrested a youth
from the city’s Pallabi area for setting fire on a police vehicle in front of
BNP office on November 14 last.
“We have arrested a youth involved in BNP politics named Md Wasim, 28,
from Muslim Camp at Pallabi for his link to torching police vehicles in front
of BNP office on November 14 last,” additional commissioner of Detective
Branch (DB), Abdul Baten told a press conference today at DMP media centre.
Police arrested the youth after finding his involvement in torching
police vehicles after scrutinizing the video footages and conducting
investigation into the matter, he said, adding that they have earlier
arrested 13 others for the same reason.
Asked about involvement of big leaders of BNP in torching police
vehicles, he also said, “Police are still investigating the matter. Nothing
could be said without completion of the investigation.”
Three cases were filed against 90 people to this end.
