Bangabandhu’s Homecoming Day celebrated at BRUR

RANGPUR, Jan 10, 2019 (BSS) – The historic Homecoming Day of Father of
the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was celebrated today at Begum
Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) in a befitting manner through elaborate
programmes.

Begum Rokeya University Teachers’ Association (BRUTA), Muktijuddher
Chetonay Pragotisheel Shikhkhok Samaj (MCPSS), teachers, students, officials
and employees of the university placed wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu
on the Independence Memorial premises in the campus.

Led by President of BRUTA Professor Dr Gazi Mazharul Anwar and its
General Secretary Tabiur Rahman Prodhan, its member placed wreath at the
portrait of Bangabandhu on the Independence Memorial premises.

Led by Convener of MCPSS Professor Dr Abu Kalam Md Farid Ul Islam and
its Member-secretary Mohammad Rafiul Azam Khan, its members placed wreaths
there paying rich tribute to Bangabandhu.

Leaders and members of BRUR units of different other organisations
including Bangabandhu Parishad and organisations of the officials and
employees put wreaths there in celebrations of the day.

Later, separate discussions were arranged by different organisations on
the importance of the Homecoming day of Bangabandhu in the campus.

Professor Dr Abu Kalam M Farid Ul Islam, Professor Dr Gazi Mazharul
Anwar, Professor Dr Parimal Chandra Barman, Professor Dr Sarifa Salowa Dina,
Professor Md Ferdous Rahman, Mohammad Rafiul Azam Khan, Tabiur Rahman
Prodhan, among others, addressed the discussions.

In the discussions, the speakers stressed on disseminating true national
history and history of the War of Liberation among the younger generations to
inspire them with patriotic zeal in building a prosperous Sonar Bangla as
dreamt by Bangabandhu.

Professor Mazharul Anwar said the process of building Bangabandhu’s
Sonar Bangla is yet to be finished even after 47 years of independence and
the unfinished task must be completed through united efforts of all people
including the young generations.

Professor Farid Ul Islam called for engaging maximum efforts in building
a middle income nation 2021, a developing country by 2024 and a developed
Bangladesh by 2041 as envisioned by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to realise
the dreams of Bangabandhu.
