Enhancing skills of teachers for quality education stressed

RANGPUR, Jan 10, 2019 (BSS) – Enhancing teaching skills
and knowledge on digitised information and communication
technologies of teachers has become imperative to ensure
quality education.

Experts and public representatives today expressed the
views at the concluding ceremony of a two-day ‘Skill
enhancement training for secondary level assistant teachers’
organised by Sadar Upazila Parisahd at its hall room in the
city.

Sadar Upazila Secondary Education Office coordinated the
training programme under the Upazila Governance and
Development Project (UGDP) with assistance of the Local
Government Division and Japan International Cooperation
Agency (JICA).

Thirty six assistant teachers of 18 secondary level
schools and madrashas of Rangpur Sadar upazila of the
district participated in the training programme.

Sadar Upazila Parisahd Chairman Nasima Zaman Boby
attended the ceremony as the chief guest with Sadar Upazila
Nirbahi officer Sadiya Ishraat Sumi in the chair.

Sadar Upazila Secondary Education Officer Abu Sayeed Md
Abdul Wahid, Upazila Academic Supervisor Aftabur Rahman,
Assistant Upazila Secondary Education Officer Badrul Hassan
and representative of UGDP Nahid Sultana addressed as special
guests.

The speakers said Bangladesh achieved laudable success
in the educations sector like in all other sectors of
development during the past ten years and quality of
education should be ensured at all levels at the earliest
possible time.

The chief guest said the present government led by Prime
Minsiter Sheikh Hasina puts appropriate importance on
ensuring quality education for producing properly educated
and knowledgeable citizens for building a developed
Bangladesh.

She urged the participating secondary level assistant teachers
to properly apply their acquired knowledge from the training course
in teaching their students at their respective educational institutions
to make the pupils understood lessons easily.
