RAB detains one for ‘spreading fake images’
RAJSHAHI, Jan 9, 2019 (BSS)- Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)
arrested a man from Hatemkha area in the city on charge of his alleged
involvement in spreading derogatory images of national and international
figures through social media.
The arrested was identified as Akhlaquzzaman Ansary, 43, son of late Abu
Sayeed of Krishnachandrapur village under Shibganj upazila in Chapainawabganj
district.
On a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a sudden raid in a house
of Hatemkha area under Boalia Police Station last night and nabbed Akhlaq
Ansari for spreading false images which were used to propagate unrest, said a
RAB press release here today.
He was spreading distorted and fake images of prominent persons of home
and abroad like Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Prime Minister Sheikh
Hasina, Tarana Halim, Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda and RAB
Director General Benzir Ahmed and Aung San Suu Kyi through his android phone,
the release added.
A case was filed with the concerned police station in this regard and the
arrested was handed over to the police.
