DHAKA, Jan 8, 2019 (BSS)- A magnificent bowling display by skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza steered defending champions Rangpur Riders to record an overwhelming nine-wicket victory over Comilla Victorians in the one-sided affairs of Bangladesh Premier League T20 held on Tuesday at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium at Mirpur here.
With this win, Rangpur secured four points, equal with table topper Dhaka Dynamites, from three matches while Comilla Victorians remained at their previous credit of two points from two outings.
Chasing a paltry winning target of 64 runs, Rangpur Riders hardly had to sweat as they comfortable reached home making 67 in 12 overs with nine wickets in hand.
After the departure of opener Chris Gayle, Mehedi maruf and Rilee Rossouw steered Rangpur towards the victory to remain unbeaten on 36 and 20 runs.
Abu Haider Rony took the lone Rangpur’s wicket conceding 11 runs.

Earlier, a fierce bowling spells by Rangpur Riders skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza saw Comilla Victorians dismissed at a paltry total of 63 in 16.2 overs after they were forced to bat first by Rangpur Riders.
Comilla stared their innings badly losing wicketsin regular intervals .Only Pakistani recruit hahid Afridi able to reach the double figure of 25 runs.
Mortaza struck early picking up the wickets of Tamim Iqbal, Evin Lewis, Imrul Kayes and completed his fourth wicket haul taking the wicket of Comilla Victorians skipper Steven Smith.
Mashrafe finished his spells with an impressive figure of 4 for 11 in 4 overs while Nazmul Islam supported him with three for 20 runs.
Besides, pacer Shafiul Islam took two Comilla’s wickets conceding 8 runs.
