Monnujan for reopening closed mills
DHAKA, Jan 8, 2019 (BSS) – Newly appointed State Minister for Labour and
Employment Begum Monnujan Sufian today hoped that initiatives would be taken
for reopening different mills and factories, including Khalishpur Newsprint
Mill and Jute Mill in Khulna, which were closed earlier.
She expressed the hope at a familiarisation meeting with officials of the
ministry at its conference room, an official release said.
Urging the officials of the ministry for working sincerely, the state
minister said she wants to make her ministry a workers-friendly one.
“The Labour and Employment Ministry will be able to play a vital role in
implementing the government’s targets if all work with sincerity,” Monnujan
said, stressed the need for working in line with the government’s commitments
made in its election manifesto.
Labour Secretary Afroza Khan and Additional Secretary of the ministry Syed
Ahmmad were, among others, present at the meeting.
