DHAKA, Jan 08, 2019 (BSS) – Speakers attending a citizen condolence meeting today urged the people including all the political leaders to follow the ideology of deceased former ruling party leader Syed Asharaful Islam as he was a very popular leader to all irrespective of political affiliation.
The appeal came at the meeting held at Mayor Mohammad Hanif Auditorium in city with Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Sayeed Khokon in the chair.
Terming Syed Ashraf who was also a Awami League Presidium member and former Public Administration Minister as loyal and confident to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the DSCC Mayor said, “There are a few leaders like him as he had no pride while he was one of the top leader of the ruling Awami League.”
“Syed Asharaful Islam had passed his political, social and family life with utmost sincerity and honesty,” said ex-Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor (VC) Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique at the function.
Sanmillito Sangskritik Jote President Golam Kuddus, Bangladesh Paribesh Andolon Vice President Architect Mobasser Hossen, DSCC’s Chief Executive Officer Mostafizur Rahman, City Corporation Secretary Shahabuddin Khan, Chief Waste Management Officer Air Commodore M Jahid Hossen, Chief Health Officer Brigadier General Dr Sheikh Salauddin, among others, attended the function.
