DHAKA, Jan 7, 2019 (BSS) – The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court (SC)
today upheld a High Court order that had asked Election Commission (EC) to
register National Democratic Movement (NDM) headed by Bobby Hajjaj as a
political party.
A four-member Appellate Division bench headed by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud
Hossain passed the order, scraping a leave to appeal petition filed by the EC
against the High Court order.
The High Court on October 21, 2018, passed the order to give registration
to NDM, prompting the EC to file an appeal against it.
Barrister Akhter Imam and Barrister Rashna Imam moved the case for Bobby
before the apex court.
