RAJSHAHI, Jan 7, 2019 (BSS) – Teachers, students and members of the civil
society including professional leaders should forge social resistance against
terrorism and militancy.

Parents and guardians should also come forward and work together to combat
militancy. They also should raise their voice against the crimes.

The observation came at a counter terrorism and militancy academic session
at Luxmipur High School under Nachole Upazila here yesterday.

Agriculture Sustainable and Socio-Economic Development Organization
(ASSEDO) organized the session in association with Countering Radicalisation
of Religious Ideologies through Edutainment and Youth Engagement project.

The project is being implemented in the area with financial support from
High Commission of Canada in Bangladesh.

More than 250 students both boys and girls accompanied by teachers,
guardians and public representatives joined the programme. They were given
ideas on how to prevent and resist terrorism and militancy collectively.

Nachole Upazila Chairman Abdul Kader and Nezampur Union Parisahd Chairman
Aminul Haque addressed the session as guests of honour with Headmaster of the
school Md Badiuzzaman in the chair.

ASSEDO Executive Director Rabiul Alam and Programme Manager Ajahar Ali
addressed the meeting as focal person.

The speakers mentioned that Islam is a religion of peace. Islam never
supports terrorism and militancy like social crimes.

They mentioned when the country is marching forward under the leadership
of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina some conspirator circles are trying to make
an obstacle with an ulterior motive of lagging behind the country.

They urged the participating students and other people to disseminate
their ideas and knowledge acquired from the training to the public in general
so that the crimes could be eradicated from the society.
