50,000 pieces of blankets distributed in Rangpur

RANGPUR, Jan 6, 2019 (BSS) – The district administration already completed
distribution of 50,000 pieces of blankets, allocated by the government, among
the cold-stricken people of the district to mitigate their sufferings.

“We have completed distribution of 50,000 pieces of blankets and sought
allocation of more 50,000 pieces of blankets and other warm clothes for the
cold-hit people of the district,” Deputy Commissioner Enamul Habib said here
on Saturday afternoon.

The Deputy Commissioner disclosed the information at a function organised
by district unit Command of Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangshad (BMS) for
distribution of blankets among the freedom fighters of the district as the
chief guest.

Earlier, the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund and the Ministry of Disaster
Management and Relief allocated 50,000 pieces of blankets in two phases for
distribution among the cold-hit people of the district.

Former Rangpur district unit Commander of BMS Mosaddek Hossain Bablu
presided over the function.

Leaders and members of the district, city and Sadar upazila unit Commands
of BMS Manjurul Alam, Golam Mostafa, Atiar Rahman, Sadrul Alam Dulu, Akbar
Hossain, Abul Masud Chowdhury Nantu, Mohammad Jahangir, among others, were
present.
