Jatiya Party to be strong opposition in parliament: Kader
DHAKA, Jan 5, 2019 (BSS) – Jatiya Party Co-Chairman GM Kader today said their party wants to be a strong opposition party to raise the people’s demand in parliament.
“Jatiya Party wants to be a strong opposition party in parliament not to carry out violence rather to speak for the people and the country,” he told an unscheduled press briefing at the party chairman’s Banani office here.
The Jatiya Party co-chairman said the party will play a proper role as the main opposition in parliament so that there remains no deficiency in running the parliament.
Kader said former President and Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad will take the charge of the leader of the main opposition in parliament.
As per the decision of party chairman, Jatiya Party Co-Chairman GM Kader will act as the deputy leader of the opposition and there will be no representation of the party in the cabinet, he said.
He said the party will play a positive role in any reform activity for the sake of the country.
Kader said physical condition of Party Chairman HM Ershad remains well and he will take oath soon as a member of parliament (MP).
Jatiya Party presidium members Syed Abu Hossain Babla, Sunil Shuvo Roy, chairman’s adviser Rezaul Islam Bhuiyan, central leaders Advocate Fayekuzzaman Firoz, Solaiman Sami, Rezaul Karim, Abu Naser Badal, Jasmine Nur Priyanka and Abdus Sattar were present on the occasion, among others.
