4 Bangladeshi juveniles repatriated thru’ Hili border

RANGPUR, Jan 03, 2019 (BSS) – Four Bangladeshi juveniles were
repatriated today from West Bengal of India through Hili Immigration Check
Post (ICP) under Hakimpur upazila in Dinajpur.

“The juveniles were repatriated after their brief stay at an Indian
Juvenile Home for illegal intrusion into India,” said Officer-in-Charge (OC)
of Hili ICP at Hili border Abdus Sabur.

The OC received the juveniles on the zero line from his counterpart OC
of Indian Hili ICP in presence of the members of Border Guard Bangladesh
(BGB) and Indian Border Security Force (BSF).

The repatriated juveniles are Mehedi Hassan, 18, of Melandaho upazila in
Jamalpur, Rabiul Islam, 17, of Chokoria upazila in Cox’ Bazar, Johan Modi,
18, of Sadar upazila in Joypurhat and Jafar Iqbal, 13, of Laksam upazila in
Comilla districts.

Earlier, the juveniles illegally entered Indian territories when they
were detained by the Indian BSF and handed over to Indian police.

Later as per order of Indian courts, they were sent to ‘Shobhayan
Juvenile Observation Home’ at Balurghat town in Dakshin Dinajpur district of
West Bengal where they had to live for 18 months to 33 months terms before
repatriation.

“After completing necessary legal process, we handed over all of the
four repatriated Bangladeshi juveniles to their respective guardians today,”
OC Abdus Sabur added.
