Krishna Kaberi murder case verdict tomorrow
DHAKA, Jan 2, 2019 (BSS) – A fast track court here is all set to pronounce judgement in the case lodged over 2015 murder of college teacher Krishna Kaberi Biswas.
Dhaka Speedy Trial Tribunal-1 Judge Shahed Nuruddin set the date after conclusion of all the legal proceedings in the case on December 23, 2018.
“The court is scheduled to pronounce judgement in the case tomorrow. The sole accused in the case Palash went into hiding after coming out of jail on bail,” special public prosecutor Abu Abdullah Bhuiyan said.
Kaberi, a teacher of Mission International College in capital’s Adabor area, got killed by Palash, a family friend. Kaberi’s daughters Shovna and Aditi, and husband BRTA official Sitangshu Shekhar Biswas were also injured in the gruesome attack.
Krishna’s brother Sudhangshu Shekhar Biswas later filed a case against Jahirul Islam Palash, an official of brokerage house Haji Ahmed Brothers Securities. Police on May 30, 2016, filed charge sheet against Palash.
Palash later surrendered before a Dhaka court and confessed to committing the murder.
The court during the hearing recorded depositions of 22 witnesses.
