Tofail terms election as free, impartial

BHOLA, Dec 31, 2018 (BSS) – Awami League (AL) Advisory Council Member Tofail Ahmed today termed the 11th parliamentary election as free, fair and participatory.

“The 11th election was held in free and fair manner …Even the foreign observers who visited different polling centres accepted the elections as neutral and fair,” he said while talking to journalists at his residence situated in Gazipur Road area of the district town this morning.

Tofail, also the Commerce Minister, said the win is not just a victory of AL, but also a success of Bangabandhu and his daughter.

Mentioning that the world is praising Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina’s dynamic leadership, he said the PM has established an unique example in the world’s history by sheltering the Rohingya community who were forcibly displaced from the their motherland Rakhine state of Myanmar.

“She dedicated herself to the humanitarian activities for the country’s people…..she is also heading towards some specific goals for the betterment of the countrymen of Bangladesh,” he added.

Tofail also said the people of Bangladesh have given the reward to their PM through balloting and that is why AL won 259 parliamentary seats while BNP got only 5.

Terming the Election Commission (EC) as successful, he said they did their work effectively.

Talking about the youths of the country, he said Sheikh Hasina had been able to attract young people in all the campaigns including talk show and discussions just before the poll time.

“New voters voted for the power of independence instead of voting the grenade attackers of 21st August,” he continued.

District AL General Secretary Abdul Momin Tulu, Sadar Upazila AL President Md Mosharraf Hossain and District AL Organising Secretary Mainul Hossain Biplob were also present on the occasion.
