Palak wins Natore-3 seat

DHAKA, Dec 31, 2018 (BSS) -State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed
Palak was elected unofficially by a huge margin from Natore-3 constituency in
the 11th parliamentary elections held on Sunday.

Election Commission (EC) Secretary Helal Uddin Ahmed announced the
unofficial results of the constituency on Sunday night.

Palak, as a ruling Awami League candidate, bagged 2,30,327 votes with
‘boat’ symbol while his nearest contestant from BNP Daudar Mahmud secured
8,841 votes with the ‘sheaf of paddy’ symbol.

Of the total 2,76,170 eligible voters, 2, 41,598 cast their ballots in
total 118 polling stations.

While talking to BSS, Palak expressed his gratitude to the people of his
constituency to elect him for the third consecutive term and Prime Minister
Sheikh Hasina to give the opportunity to serve his people.

“I want to turn Singra as an ICT hub and best upazila in the country under
the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina following the directions of
her ICT Affairs Adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy. I want to ensure empowerment of
youths and will give my outmost importance in implementing my pledges given
to my people,” he said.
