Anisul Huq wins Brahmanbaria-4 seat
DHAKA, Dec 31, 2018 (BSS) -Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs
Minister Anisul Huq was elected unofficially by a huge margin from
Brahmanbaria-4 constituency in the 11th parliamentary elections held on
Sunday.
Election Commission (EC) Secretary Helal Uddin Ahmed announced the
unofficial results of the constituency on Sunday night.
Anisul, as a ruling Awami League candidate, bagged 2,82,062 votes with
‘boat’ symbol while his nearest contestant from Islami Andolan Bangladesh Md
Jashim secured 2,949 votes with the ‘handfan (Hatpakha)’ symbol.
Of the 3, 27,306 legal voters, 2, 86,665 cast their ballots. Of those
1,254 were canceled.
