AL leaders urged to stay in polling stations

DHAKA, Dec 29, 2018 (BSS) – Awami League (AL) Joint General Secretary Abdur Rahman urged all AL leaders and activists to remain present at the polling stations tomorrow without being misguided by BNP-Jamaat’s strategy.

“Spreading propaganda on social media at the last moment to skip the election may be a design of BNP… So we have to remain alert and present at the polling stations to thwart their evil design,” he told a press briefing at AL President Sheikh Hasina’s political office in city’s Dhanmondi area yesterday.

Terming the national election as important for the nation, he said it will decide whether the non-communal forces under the leadership of Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina will win again or the anti-liberation communal forces, led by BNP-Jamaat will come to the state power.

Over the few days, BNP-Jamaat clique had carried out violent acts in country sensing their certain defeat in the Jatiya Sangsad election, he said.

He urged the people to cast their votes in favor of AL-led grand alliance candidates to continue the current pace of development and hoped that AL will win in the election by a huge margin of votes.

“Whatever the election results, we will accept and welcome it,” he added.

AL Joint General Secretary Advocate Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Organizing Secretary Ahmed Hossain, BM Mozammel Haque, MP, AFM Bahauddin Nasim, MP, Forest and Environmental Affairs Secretary Delwar Hossain, Health and Population Affairs Secretary Dr Rokeya Sultana, Women Affairs Secretary Fazilatun-Nisa Indira, among others, were also present on the occasion.
