Election campaign gains momentum in Mymensingh

MYMENSINGH, Dec 27, 2018 (BSS) – With just two days left for the
forthcoming 11th parliamentary election on December 30, the election campaign
has gained full momentum in the district.

The candidates of different political parties, including Awami League (AL)
and Bangladesh Nationalist party (BNP), are seen doing electioneering with
posters and leaflets to woo the voters from early morning to midnight.

Most of the candidates were seen on streets with their supporters. They are
also attending group meeting, exchanging greetings with various cross section
of the voters.

Banners, festoons, and posters for the 11th national election are on
display all across the 11 constituencies.

The female candidates were also seen to take part in the campaign. District
Election office sources said, a total of 57 candidates are in the election
race in all the 11 constituencies in the district for the upcoming national
election.

District Election Office sources told BSS that to hold the election in free
and fair manner Election Commission has set up 1,323 polling centres in 11
constituencies. Total number of voters is 37,518,32. of them 18,936,97 are
male voters and 18,581,35 female voters.
