Continue supporting Hasina for uninterrupted development: Speaker

RANGPUR, Dec 26, 2018 (BSS) – Jatiya Sangshad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin
Chaudhury, MP, today urged the electorates to continue their support to Prime
Minsiter Sheikh Hasina by voting for the symbol ‘Boat’ for uninterrupted
development. The ‘Boat’ has factually become a symbol for prosperity and we
have to make Sheikh Hasina winner again in the eleventh parliamentary
election for continuous advancement of the country involving everyone with
the development process,” she said.

Dr Shirin said this while making mass public contacts and addressing
streets corner rallies as a part of her daylong election campaign at
different places of Barodorga union in her Rangpur-6 constituency comprising
of Pirganj upazila.

The Speaker said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working for
betterment of the common people through implementing massive development
programmes improving their socio-economic conditions and standard of living
in last ten years.

“We have provided electricity to every house, set up community clinics
reaching health services to doorstep of the common people and established 100
special economic zones across the country side by side with taking various
public welfare initiatives,” she said. Dr Shirin urged the people to vote for
‘Boat’ for continuity of the development trend to realise the dream of
building a developed Sonar Bangla as dreamt by Father of the Nation
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Among the major development projects implemented in Pirganj upazila, she
cited constructions of Central Shaheed Minar, Muktijoddha Complex Bhaban,
Union Parishad Complexes, Upazila Parisahd Complex, Bangladesh Institute of
Research and Training on Applied Nutrition, establishing Dr MA Wazed Textile
Engineering College and Marine Academy Construction.

Besides, constructions of many roads, bridges, culverts and other rural
infrastructures have also been completed bringing a revolutionary change in
communication networks of Pirganj upazila putting huge positive impacts on
the rural economy. “If voted to power by the people again, we will implement
more development works to turn Pirganj into a model upazila,” she said adding
that there is no alternative to ‘Boat’ for building a prosperous Bangladesh
free from hunger, discrimination and poverty.

Acting President of Pirganj upazila Awami League (AL) Azizur Rahman
Ranga, Cultural Affairs Secretary of district AL Shahidul Islam Pintu,
General Secretary of Barodorga union AL Saidul Islam, President of district
Chatra League Mehedee Hasan Rony, Chairman of Barodorga union Nurul Haque,
Mohila AL leader Sabina Yasmin Bindu, among others, accompanied the Speaker.
