NEW DELHI, Dec 24, 2018 (BSS/Xinhua) – At least eight people were killed
and many injured in a massive pile-up of as many as 50 vehicles, including a
school bus, trucks and several cars, due to dense fog in India’s northern
state of Haryana early Monday morning.

The accident happened on a highway connecting the Rohtak and Rewari
districts of Haryana, near a flyover in Haryana’s Jhajjar district.

All the eight killed, including seven women, were travelling aboard the
same vehicle which was heading towards Delhi from Rohtak, said local media
reports.

Those injured have been admitted in nearby hospitals where they are being
given required medical treatment.

Ten of the injured are said to be in critical condition.

Large parts in northern India are currently witnessing dense foggy
conditions, particularly during morning and evening hours.

The situation is further aggravated due to the prevailing high levels of
air pollution.
