CEC asks election officers to perform duties with professionalism

MYMENSINGH, Dec 22, 2018 (BSS) – Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda today asked the election officers and members of law enforcement agencies to carry out their duties with professionalism, sincerity and impartiality during the upcoming parliamentary election slated for December 30.

“Law enforcement agencies will have to remain alert so that voters can safely return home after casting votes,” he told a view-exchange meeting with concerned officials related to the elections at the divisional level in Advocate Mahmud Al-Noor Tareq Memorial Auditorium in the district.

He also asked the law enforcement agencies to put special emphasis on ensuring safety of minority community people to avert any untoward incident centering the election.

Huda also sought cooperation from all to hold the election in a free, fair, neutral and peaceful manner.

The CEC said a festive mood is prevailing across the country ahead of the upcoming 11th parliamentary election.

Law enforcement agencies will remain always prepared so that no untoward incident is occurred centering the polls.

Election Commission Secretary Helal Uddin Ahmed, Divisional Commissioner Hasan Mahmud, Mymensingh Deputy Commissioner Dr Subhash Chandra Biswas, Regional Election Officer Md Alimuzzaman, Police Super Md Shah Abid Hossain, Army and BGB officials were present on the occasion, among others.
