PM visits late Mehzabin Rashid’s residence
DHAKA, Dec 20, 2018 (BSS) – Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today visited the residence of Mehzabin Rashid Choudhury, wife of former Jatiya Sangsad speaker Humayun Rashid Choudhury, to pay her last respects to her and console the family members.
Mehzabin Rashid died at the United Hospital in Dhaka early this morning at the age of 89.
“Hearing the news, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her sister Sheikh Rehana rushed to Mehzabin Rashid’s Lalmatia home this morning,” PM’s Deputy Press Secretary Ashraful Alam Khokan said.
The prime minister, he said, stayed there for some time and talked to the family members of the deceased.
She also consoled them and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.
Earlier in a condolence message, Sheikh Hasina expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Mezabin Rashid.
The premier recalled with profound respect Mehzabin Rashid’s overall support to her and her younger sister, including giving them shelter in Germany, despite many adversities after the brutal assassination of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on August 15 in 1975.
