Speakers for need-based skills to cope with 4th industrial revolution
DHAKA, Dec 20, 2018 (BSS) – Speakers at a discussion in the city today underscored the need for enhancing need-based skills development and changing the overall education system to cope with the 4th industrial revolution.
They were addressing the discussion on “4th Industrial Revolution: Transition to Transformation Key Challenges and Opport0unities for Bangladesh” at the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) auditorium.
The speakers mentioned that the 4th industrial revolution is fully based on modern and sophisticated technology along with artificial intelligence.
Senior Secretary of the Foreign Affairs Ministry M Shahidul Haque attended the discussion as the chief guest while Vice President of the Bangladesh Center for Fourth Industrial Revolution (BD4IR) Syed Tamjid ur Rahman delivered the key note speech.
DCCI President delivered the opening remarks while DCCI Senior Vice President Kamrul Islam delivered the closing remarks.
Shahidul Haque said people of the country are capable of adopting technology as they are bright and brilliant. “It is true that because of 4IR, job loss will be a main challenge but we are optimistic that it will create more job opportunities,” he added.
Syed Tamjid ur Rahman said Bangladesh needs to enhance its need-based skills development and change the overall education system as the country is at the transition time to step into the 4th industrial revolution.
Abul Kasem Khan said the 4th industrial revolution is evolving fast and changing economies, businesses, and industries and transforming the entire system of production, management and governance.
Among others, DCCI Vice President Riyadh Hossain and Senior Vice President Kamrul Islam were present.
