Three killed in Bagerhat road accident
BAGERHAT, Dec 20, 2018 (BSS) – Three people were killed and 15 others
injured as a bus hit a roadside tree in Sonatunia area on the Khulna-Mongla
highway under Rampal upazila of the district early Thursday.
Two deceased were identified as Kamrul, 25, son of Sarwar Hossain of
Mongla upazila and Ferdous 42, son of Abu Taher, hailing at Telikhali village
of Rampal upazila of the district. Identity of the other deceased could not
be known.
The accident occurred at about 3.30 am when a passenger bus hit the
roadside tree in the area and turned turtle as its driver lost control over
the steering, leaving two passengers dead on the spot and 16 others injured,
said Maloy Roy, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Katakhali Highway Police Station in
Bagerhat.
The injured were taken to a local hospital where the doctors declared one
dead.
