Stocks perform mixed on higher transactions
DHAKA, Dec 19, 2018 (BSS) – Dhaka Stocks on Wednesday witnessed flat with
falling trend of most of the major price indices at Dhaka and Chittagong
Stock Exchanges despite higher transactions.
The day’s trade value at the DSE increased to Taka 397.93 crore from
Tuesday’s Taka 378.83 crore and the daily trade also rose to 9.63 crore share
from 8.43 crore share of the previous session.
The broader DSEX of the DSE closed the day with 8.97 points up at
5,242.56. The blue-chip DS30 and the Shariah DSES closed the day with 7.17
points down at 1,836.25 and with 0.31 point down at 1,204.89.
At the DSE, prices of 209 securities out of the day’s 341 closed higher
against 78 losing issues.
The major gaining issues were Rupali Insurance, Queen South, Prime Life,
Continental Insurance and Agrani Insurance. The major losing issues were
ANLIMAYARN, HRTEX, Meghna Condense Milk, ISNLTD and MLDYEING.
Square Pharma topped the turnover list followed by UPGDCL, BRAC Bank,
JMISMDL and Ifad Autos.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with
downward trend with its major CASPI 0.23 point down at 16,047.46.
At the CSE, 250 issues traded while 147 closed higher against 65 closed
lower when 55.56 lakh shares worth Taka 24.30 crore changed hands.
