DHAKA, Dec 18, 2018 (BSS) – The Election Commission (EC) today directed its concerned officials to maintain caution when publishing the results of the 11th parliamentary elections slated for December 30.
“The concerned officials will have to maintain caution in information and result management activities to keep the Election Commission out of any embarrassing situation,” Election Commissioner Rafiqul Islam said at a training programme at the Nirbachan Bhaban in city’s Agargaon.
The training was held on the Election Management System, the Candidate Information Management System (CIMS) and the Result Management System (RMS) software at the Election Training Institute.
Rafiqul said, “Any type of false or wrong information can trigger conflicts and violence. We will lose the confidence of the common people. So, it is essential to maintain caution while publishing results.”
The election commissioner said the announcement of the polls result is one of the most important parts of the overall election process. “So you should perform your duties properly to provide right information,” he added.
