Speaker urges students to take Bangladesh toward prosperity

RANGPUR, Dec 17, 2018 (BSS) – Jatiya Sangshad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin
Chaudhury today called upon students and youths to take Bangladesh toward
prosperity utilising the information and communication technologies.

“The student community will become driving force to build a developed
Sonar Bangla as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur
Rahman,” she said while a views-exchange meeting with students at Central
Shaheed Minar premises in Pirganj upazila as the chief guest.

The district unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) organised the event
as a part of election campaign in favour of Dr Shirin who is contesting from
Rangpur-6 (Pirganj) constituency in the 11th parliamentary election.

President of district unit of BCL Mehedee Hasan Rony presided over the
meeting participated by huge number of students of different educational
institutions of the upazila.

Dr Shirin said the country has witnessed unprecedented developments in
every field under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during her
last ten-year tenure.

“All these developments of students, educational institutions and all
other places were implemented as planned by the Prime Minister creating
further enormous prospects in every sector of the national economy,” she
said.

She said the young generations and youths are the inseparable parts of
our society and the BCL members are belonging to the same generations.

“So why, the BCL members have to take future leadership to play the most
important role in realising the Vision 2041 as envisioned by Prime Minister
Sheikh Hasina of building a developed Bangladesh by 2041,” she said.

Dr Shirin mentioned that dreamer of the Digital Bangladesh concept
Sajeeb Wazed Joy has made an unprecedented revolution in the field of
information and communication technology in Bangladesh.

“As a result, the youths, students, young generations and members of BCL
as well are effectively reaping maximum benefits of digitisation having
mobile phone sets, internet, WiFi and all other related facilities in their
hands,” she said.

Vice-president of district Awami League Chhayadat Hossain Bakul, its
General Secretary of Advocate Rezaul Karim Razu, Cultural Affairs Secretary
Shahidul Islam Pintu, Industrialist Engineer Sayed Reza Shanto, Vice-
presidents of district BCL Rokunuzzaman Sagar, Shamim Sarder, Motaleb Hossain
and Nure Alam Khushi and its Organising Secretary Abu Hossain were present.

Earlier, the Speaker visited the free medical camp organised under
joint banner of BCL and Swadhinata Chikitsak Parishad on Pirganj upazila
parishad premises and took part in mass public contacts and rally there.

Later, Dr Shirin made public contacts, talked to the common people and
addressed a series of street corner rallies at many points of Mithipur union
in her Rangpur-6 (Pirganj) constituency as a part of her election campaign.
