Vietnamese state firms divest 8 mln USD in sensitive fields in 2017

HANOI, Jan 3, 2018 (BSS/Xinhua) — Vietnam’s state-owned enterprises made
divestment of 182 billion Vietnamese dong (8 million U.S. dollars) in five
sensitive areas in 2017.

The five sensitive fields include securities, insurance, finance and
banking, real estate and investment fund, according to the country’s Finance
Ministry on Wednesday.

State-owned enterprises also divested 1,803 billion Vietnamese dong (nearly
79.8 million U.S. dollars) in other fields in 2017.

Vietnam has set targets of conducting divestment in 181 state-owned
enterprises in 2018, 62 in 2019 and 28 in 2020, said the ministry.

Last year, 45 state-owned enterprises received approval for being
equitized. The country is poised to complete equitization of 64 state-owned
enterprises this year, 18 next year and one in 2020.
