AL for reaching development trend to each house: Dr Shirin
RANGPUR, Dec 15, 2018 (BSS) – Speaker of the Jatiya Sangshad Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury today said Awami League (AL) aims at reaching the momentum of development to every house of the country.
“To maintain development momentum of the government for building Bangabandhu’s Sonar Bangla, it is essential to vote for the symbol ‘Boat’ to bring worldwide appreciated leader Sheikh Hasina to power again,” she said.
Dr Shirin said this while addressing a views-exchanging meeting with local journalists at Pirganj Press Club (PPC) in Pirganj upazila town here with PPC President Moksed Ali Sarker in the chair.
The speaker said every citizen of the country wants a prosperous Bangladesh and the country is being transformed into a developing one under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
“We will be able to transform out country into a middle income nation much ahead of the year 2021. So why, continuation of the government is very much essential,” she said.
Terming journalists as mirror of the society, she said journalists can contribute to free the country from militancy and their writings can free the society from drug and lead young generations toward the side of the pro-liberation forces.
“The role of journalists is enormous in bringing the young generations toward the light from the black clutches of the evil forces,” she said.
“I have done all possible for ensuring development of Pirganj. I will try my best with utmost dedication to turn Pirganj into an enlightened upazila if elected again as member of the parliament from Rangpur-6 (Pirganj) constituency,” she said.
Expressing her heart-felt gratitude to the journalists of Pirganj for extending their sincere cooperation to her as local member of the parliament during her last five-year tenure, she sought their further cooperation in future.
“If the people vote for the symbol ‘Boat’ to bring Awami League to power again, we will work for transforming the country into the prosperous Sonar Bangla as dreamt by father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman,” Dr Shirin said. Life-long Member of PPC and Chief Reporter of ATN Bangla Keramat Ullah Biplob, Vice-president of PPC Kamrul Hassan Jewel, its General Secretary Mazharul Alam Milan, senior journalists Abdullahil Baki Bablu and Sarwar Jahan, among others, spoke.
