5 die in fishing boat sinking in Myanmar’s western coast
YANGON, Dec. 12, 2018 (BSS/XINHUA) – Five fishermen have died as a fishing
boat sank in Ngpali, Myanmar western coast, the official Global New Light of
Myanmar reported Wednesday.
With 10 fishermen onboard, the private-owned fishing boat sank after
springing a leak off the Ngapali coast in Rakhine state on Sunday noon.
It sank while it was anchored near islands about 20 nautical miles from
Manaung.
Myanmar navy rushed to the scene and the five bodies from the wreckage of
the fishing boat were found by naval divers.
The navy has been managing to rescue the remaining five fishermen, the
report added.
